NFL Rookie Watch: Week 10 Stuck
Posted on November 15, 2012 at 05:33 PM.

This rookie class has been extremely impressive so far. I'm not about to say the Quarterbacks will rival 1983 or 2004, but they could eventually rival them. However, the Quarterbacks aren't the only impressive rookies so far this year. Without further ado, the top five rookies and five who missed the cut:

Missed the Cut (in no order):

LB Lavonte David, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

David is top-five in the league in tackles, and is tied for second in solo tackles as a rookie. He's a tackling machine, but hasn't forced or recovered and fumbles and doesn't have interceptions. That's the only thing keeping him out of the top five.

DE Chandler Jones, New England Patriots

Jones is second in the rookie class in sacks behind Bruce Irvin, but plays every down unlike Irvin. Jones has slowed down the last few weeks, but still has had a solid season.

LB Luke Kuechly, Carolina Panthers

Kuechly has taken over for Jon Beason in a big way. The Panthers stink defensively, but isn't because of Kuechly.

QB Brandon Weeden, Cleveland Browns

Weeden had a slow and disappointing start to his professional career, but with the emergence of Josh Gordon, Weeden has improved throughout the season. He's actually passed Ryan Tannehill in terms of ranking here after his disappointing game last week.

QB Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks

Wilson continues to outperform his draft position as well as any sort of expectations pundits had for him this season.

Top Five:

5) RB Trent Richardson, Cleveland Browns

Richardson has to deal with two prolific rushers in front of him on the list, but despite some injuries has had a solid season in Cleveland. He's had a solid season out of the backfield receiving in addition to on the ground.

4) RB Alfred Morris, Washington Redskins

Morris had a bye last week, but remains the second-leading rusher in the rookie class. The Shanahan's haven't been utilizing him inside the five, deciding to use Robert Griffin III inside the five more often, but he remains a solid player.

3) RB Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The man with either the best or most-disgusting nickname of all time, the Muscle Hamster, has been a tear recently. His ridiculous stretch of games lately have put him atop the rookie rushing rankings.

2) QB Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins

Griffin had his first really bad game in his last game against the Panthers. He wasn't accurate and couldn't get anything going on the ground. Griffin, and the Redskins, have struggled as late as injuries on both sides of the ball have started to rack up.

1) QB Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts

Luck is clearly living up to the hype of being the number one pick in the draft. I've already said this week that I was wrong about Luck's season. He's winning games, and stats be damned. Luck and the Colts will make the playoffs and Luck is a huge reason why.

I can play with stats too, it's really easy. Total QBR: #4 Andrew Luck, #10 Robert Griffin III .... #17 Russell Wilson. You can find any stat to fit your argument.

That old article barely makes the argument for Wilson. It did more to convince me that RG3 is better than Wilson. Which he is.
